A metaphor for progressive revelation

A few days ago I thought of a metaphor for the return of God's Manifestation: a parent wouldn't leave their child to play with other children, and never come back.

(Progressive Revelation is the idea that God has progressively sent Manifestations Who reflect His qualities and work as an intermediary between Him and His creation to share His unendingly unfolding Message and help His servants to walk the path of His Service. Krishna, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, Muhammad, the Báb, and Bahá'u'lláh are among these Manifestations. The Progressive Revelation part is like the parent telling their child to play nicely with the other children before leaving.)
